ABC News rapporterar från Tehran

ABC News rapporterar från Iran idag.

Det har förekommit sammandrabbningar mellan polis och oppositionella demonstranter i Tehran. Rapporterna är dock knapphändiga eftersom utländska medier inte tillåts rapportera från oroligheterna i landet.

De rapporter som nått ABC talar om användande av tårgas mot demonstranterna, gripanden, inskränkningar i mobilnät och tillgång till internet, samt mycket annat.

Demonstrationerna och information om dem sprider sig på gatorna via utdelning av flygblad och cd-skivor, samt från person till person.

Den regeringstrogna milisen samlas för att med hjälp av motorcyklar slå ner alla tecken på demonstrationer.

16 azar - reports... keep 'em coming!

Internet tystnar. Mobiltelenäten tystnar. Utländsk media tystas. Demonstranter fängslas, mördas och utsätts för tårgas.

"Värden som tolerans, dialog och respekt för varandras religion ska aldrig ställas inför en folkomröstning", sa Irans utrikesminister Manouchehr Mottaki till sin schweiziske kollega Micheline Calmy-Rey under ett samtal rörande minaretsförbudet i Schweiz.

There are widespread protests at Vali-asr Sq. and severe clashes have taken place between youths and government forces. Military forces are attacking the people with batons and hitting them. Plainclothes officers are attempting to arrest some of the youths.

Tre dagar till Studenternas dag i Iran - varför rapporterar inte svensk media?

Om tre dagar, den 7 december, är det den 16 azar eller Studenternas dag i Iran. Svenska mediers bevakning av konflikten i Iran har tystnat för länge sedan, men kampen mot den illegala regimen i Tehran fortgår.

Det finns andra medier som fortsätter bevaka de missförhållanden som finns i landet och det våld regimen riktar mot sin egen befolkning. Exempelvis bedriver CNN bevakning via iReport.


Den 7 december kommer studenterna i Iran tillsammans med stora grupper övriga medborgare att demonstrera mot diktaturen och målet är att driva kampen till sin spets. Man vill kämpa in i det sista och inte ge vika. Man pratar om "antingen död eller frihet!".

Under tiden förbereder sig regimen genom att blockera stora delar av internet och genom att dra tillbaka visum för utländska journalister. Revolten ska tigas ihjäl. Planen är att tysta rapporteringen om de fortsatta övergreppen på oppositionen och se till att omvärlden inte nås av samma mängd nyheter som sist. Frågan är om vi verkligen kan och har samvete nog att acceptera det. Jag känner inte, för min personliga del, att jag kan det.

Om du har tillgång till information om vad som händer i Iran - se till att sprida det. Via YouTube, Twitter, Facebook eller andra sociala medier. Se bara till att bevakningen inte upphör. Se till att folkets röst i Iran inte tystnar.

Kom ihåg att många redan har kämpat, skadats eller dödats i denna kampen och att det som fortgår än idag är fullkomligt oacceptabelt. Det ska aldrig vara ok att förtrycka sitt eget folk eller att sätta demokratins värden på undantag. Det som sker idag är närmast att likna vid ett veritabelt helvete. Den 7 december kan vi inte förvänta oss något annat än ett brinnande inferno och ett makabert lidande på en nivå vi svenskar normalt sett inte kan förstå.

Remember remember the 7th of December, the gunpowder treason and plot. There is no reason why the gunpowder treason should ever be forgot.

The 7th of December (16th of Azar) is the Students Day in Iran. The Student Day is the anniversary of the killing of three students from the University of Tehran on December 6, 1953. Since then students have been protesting against dictatorship every year and on the 7th of December this year the Iranian student movement will be accompanied by the rest of the people in massive protests against the repressive and illegitimate Iranian regime. Government forces have already arrested many students in advance in order to prevent them from organizing protests.

Help us spread awareness about this day and to show your support for the brave students and their actions.

1. Wear something green on this day and encourage two others to do the same.
2. If you are a student please host an event on your university and post the link to this page.
3. Broadcast yourself. Make a short video of yourself where you declare your support and invite others to join. Post the video on video on the video tab of this Facebook Group.If you don’t know what to say in your video, here is a suggestion:
   

   The 7th of December is Students Day in Iran. On this day the students will once again take to the streets in peaceful protest for freedom and democracy and against oppression. They need our support. I will show my support by wearing green. Wear green as well.
